What is the Higlobe Card?

  • Updated

The Higlobe Card is a virtual Visa Signature® credit card powered by your USDC balance at Higlobe. Use it to make purchases anywhere Visa is accepted, without needing to withdraw funds to a local bank account first.

Is it a credit card or a debit card?

The Higlobe Card is a credit card. Your available spending is backed by your USDC balance at Higlobe.

Who is eligible for the Higlobe Card?

The Higlobe Card is available to individual Higlobe account holders or single owner companies. Business account holders multiple beneficial owners are not eligible for the card.

Is there a physical card?

No. The Higlobe Card is exclusively digital. You can add it to Apple Pay or Google Wallet and use it anywhere those payment methods are accepted, as well as for online purchases. We are working on a physical card for the future; if this is important to you, please let us know.

Getting Started

How do I activate my card?

Open the Higlobe app, go to the "Card" section, and follow the steps to set up your PIN. As soon as your PIN is set, your card will be active and ready to use. No waiting, no mail delivery. Follow this link for a step-by-step guide: [How to create your Higlobe Card].

How do I set or change my PIN?

You can set up your PIN during the activation process within the Higlobe app.

How do I view my card details (number, expiration date, CVV)?

Your card details are available in the Higlobe app under the "Card" section.

Using Your Card

Where can I use the Higlobe Card?

Anywhere Visa is accepted: in physical stores, online, and internationally. You can also add it to Apple Pay or Google Wallet for contactless payments.

In which currencies can I spend?

You can spend in any currency. Purchases in USD are free of charge. For purchases in any other currency, a 1% foreign exchange (FX) conversion fee applies.

What are the fees?

  • Purchases in USD: Free.

  • Purchases in other currencies: 1% conversion fee.

  • Annual or monthly fee: $0 (Fee-free).

Can I use the Higlobe Card at ATMs?

Not at the moment. Currently, the Higlobe Card is digital, so ATM cash withdrawals are not supported. We are exploring the option of a physical card for the future.

The card machine is asking if I want to pay in USD or local currency. What should I choose?

Always choose to pay in the local currency. When a merchant or ATM offers to convert the charge to USD for you (known as Dynamic Currency Conversion), they apply their own exchange rate, which is usually much worse than Higlobe's 1% fee. By paying in the local currency, Higlobe handles the conversion at a significantly better rate.

  • If you see a message like "Pay in USD $XX or pay in [local currency] XX?", always select the local currency.

  • If there is no option to select the local currency, please decline or cancel the conversion.

How do I add my Higlobe Card to Apple Pay or Google Wallet?

You can add it manually using your card details:

  1. Open the Higlobe app and go to the "Card" section to view the card number, expiration date, and CVV.

  2. Open the Wallet app (iPhone) or Google Wallet (Android).

  3. Tap "Add Card" and enter the details manually.

We are working to make this a one-click experience directly from our app soon.

What happens if my Higlobe balance is insufficient for a purchase?

The transaction will be declined. Please ensure your balance covers the total amount of the purchase before spending.

Is there a spending limit?

Yes. The Higlobe Card allows purchases of up to $3,000 USD in a single transaction. If you need a higher limit, please contact support.

Can I view my card transactions?

Yes. All transactions appear in your Higlobe app history along with your other account activities.

Will I receive notifications when the card is used?

Not at the moment. We recommend checking your transaction history in the app regularly. Notifications are on our product roadmap for future updates.

How do refunds work?

If a merchant issues a refund to your Higlobe Card, it will appear in your balance within the timeframe set by Visa and the merchant (usually 5 to 10 business days).

When does my card expire?

Your card is valid until the expiration date printed on it, which is visible in the "Card" section of the app. We will send you more details about renewal when the date approaches.

I don't recognize a charge on my card. What should I do?

First, check your transaction history in the app to confirm the charge. If you still do not recognize it, freeze your card immediately and contact Higlobe support. We will help investigate and, if necessary, initiate a dispute.

I lost my phone. Is my card safe?

Yes. When your card is added to Apple Pay or Google Wallet, the actual card number is never stored on the device; instead, a secure "token" is used. This token only works with your biometric authentication (Face ID, fingerprint) or passcode.

We recommend that you:

  1. Remotely lock or wipe your phone using "Find My" (iPhone) or "Find My Device" (Android).

  2. Log into the Higlobe app on another device and freeze your card as an extra precaution.

Card Management

How do I freeze or unfreeze my card?

You can freeze and unfreeze your card instantly by contacting Higlobe support. This is useful if you misplace your phone or want to pause your spending temporarily.

What should I do if I think my card has been compromised?

Freeze the card immediately through the app and contact support. We can issue a new replacement virtual card if necessary.
