What does being a freelancer mean?

A freelancer is someone who performs work for someone else, but who generally controls their own hours, pays their own taxes, and ultimately works for themselves. A person who works as a freelancer usually earns wages based on projects, tasks, or jobs. By working freelance, a person has the ability to be flexible with their schedule, tasks, and location. The terms ‘’freelancer’’ and ‘’contractor’’ are often used interchangeably.
