Enabling Location and Camera Permissions for ID and Selfie Verification

As part of our registration process, we require ID and selfie verification. This process is managed by our third-party provider, Metamap, which requires access to your location and camera to complete the verification.

In this article, you'll learn how to enable these permissions on your iOS or Android phone.

For iOS Devices:

Enabling Location Permissions for Your Browser:

  2. Navigate to Privacy and then select Location Services.
  3. Find your browser app (e.g., Safari or Chrome). IMG_4201.jpg
  4. Choose a location access option for the browser:
    • While Using the App
    • Ask Next Time
    • Never

Enabling Location Permissions for the Metamap Website:

  1. Open your browser (e.g., Safari or Chrome) on your iPhone/iPad and visit metamap.com.

  3. Select Website Settings.
  4. Choose Ask, Deny, or Allow for location access. IMG_4203.jpg

For Android Devices:

Enabling Location Permissions in Firefox:

  1. Open the Firefox browser on your Android phone.

Enabling Location Permissions in Google Chrome:

  1. Open the Chrome browser on your Android device.
  2. Tap More (the three vertical dots) on the right side of the address bar and select Settings
  3. Under Advanced, tap Site settings and then Location. Screenshot 2024-09-12 at 19.48.34.png
  4. Turn Location on or off as needed.
    • To adjust settings for a specific site (e.g., metamap.com), tap on the site’s name listed there.

Please note:

  • It may take some time for your browser to detect your current device location. If the location is not detected immediately, try clearing your cookies and waiting a few moments before continuing with your registration.
  • Ensure your camera permissions are also enabled for both your browser and the Metamap website to complete the selfie verification process.
